I have to high dome LED's that I would like to put on BB500's (or should I use 700's ...this is all new to me). I was wondering what all is involved. I am thinking that I have to buy the converter board, emitter board, and optic...if there is anything else I need please let me know. What is involved in mounting everything...basic soldering? Would I be better off to buy the complete sandwich and replace the LED...is that even possible? I would really like to do this myself, but I am completely new to this and need some help. Are there instructions included?

first. is it 1w or 5w emitters?

if 1w i'd consider one of the madmaxes (mm: ~600mA, mm+:~800mA). The madmax is a bit more efficient than the badboys, and runs the batteries further down before shut-down.
How much current you want to push depends on your heatsinking, are you going to use it for a minimag?
basically you need emitter board, converter board, and 2 connectors for each sandwich. and, when you have soldered it together you want to fill it with arctic alumina or arctic ceramique epoxy to releave heat from the emitter and converter. There are some instructional pages from wayne, well scattered but could be dug out. you can use nx05 optic or mcflood, if i am not mistaken.

edit: i think you need an oring also for the mag, not sure.
