Need help with pictures of beam shots

Hey guys, I know many of you here play around with cameras and have posted beam shots. I was wondering what standard settings should be when photographing beam shots of my dive lights (OK now it's dive light related).

I have a Canon DSLR camera and pictures will be taken about 15' back in a media room.
