I'm trying to build an MR11 flashlight using an Osram Ostar quad emmiter. I plan on using it as a bike helmet light so it need to have a relatively small body. It needs to have a way to get a good size heat sink in it-or have a heat sink available aftermarket.
I need an MR11 because the Ledil lens I'm using comes as an MR11. It also will be powered from an external battery pack so on board battery/driver issues are not a problem.
The light should theoretically give me about 400-500 lumen's.
I just finished a Maglite triple Cree mod but would like something smaller for my head.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Any other insight would be appreciated.
If there is another LED better suited for this application like a Luxeon V let me know.
