I have the CMG infinity. Too dim.

And, yes, I'm considering the ARC-LS with 1 or 2 AA pack.

I'm not a fan of the Eternalite or anything else that's plastic and won't take being banged around.

If the infinity had the brightness of the Arc LE, I wouldn't be asking this question.

May I ask why specifically AA? Is it an issue of battery commonality with other devices? Do you currently have the Arc AAA?

It's a great question...

I'm a AA guy. I have a lot of them. All my articles (RCA Lyra MP3 Player, CD portable, Walkman, PSION palmtop) all take AA.

I MIGHT accept AAA, since I have 2 devices that use them. But then I would just have an Arc! (Yea, I have one, but it's in use)

But I'd prefer AA. I like the ARC-LS, but it's an expensive bugger!

I have a zillion AA rechargables, and I get a few small, high quality (Duracell PROCELL) AA's every month, FREE.

Seems a waste to buy CR123's when you get AA's free.

If you want something cheaper than the LS then get the nightbuster 8x (8 LEDs). It's bright, heavy duty aluminum construction, uses 3 AA's and cost $49. Or get the Nightbuster Ledda (4 LEDs) for a little less money, $39.

You could also build an LS flashlight for less.

You can buy them here: Glow Bug

If you want to wait a while there will be an AA Arc according to Gransee...I know I`ll get one.

Ken B,

Are you sure about this? I hadn't heard.

I know he's busy with the LS, so I'm certainly willing to wait, but as long as he plans on it eventually, I'm elated.

p.s. I'm also a AA guy. Every other single piece of my non-household electronic equipment runs off AAs.
