I was afraid of the Hamburger Helper glove as a child, but other than that scary movies don't do much in the way of making me shake. I'm too into the special effects and stuff, I guess . .

"Holey Moley"...making me feel old, that Hamburger Helper glove hasn't been out "that" long has it?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In today's world, there's probably a "Fear of the Hamburger Helper Glove" support group and folks that have sued them over it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw deliverance once, I thought it was somewhat funny. Oink, oink. I had someone tell me wrong turn was on par with that, but they were lying.

Our house is smack dab in the middle of heavily wooded 6 1/2 acres. The property is surrounded by another 80-120 acres (depending on who you talk to). There is only one driveway which is 800-900 feet long to get a vehicle in or out. It snakes through the woods and is just wide enough to get the propane delivery truck up here.

There used to be an old house here when we bought the place. The older woman (Mrs. Cornwall) who had lived here for 30-40 or so years died in that house. It was in bad shape, so we salvaged some doors and windows out of it and had the fire department burn the rest down. Some of those salvaged pieces were used in the construction of our home.

You know when you think something moved just out of the corner of your eye, but when you turned your head to look nothing was there? Or you think you hear the faint sound of a voice, or maybe someone watching you? You know, when the little hairs on the back of your neck kind of stand up or you get that tingle feeling? You know something, but just can't put your finger on it. Chances are, on our property, something was there. What it was, or who it was, you'll never know. In the dark, in the woods ..... you just never know.

We have two dogs, one cat. Sometimes, their ears perk up and they stare out our glass paned, double french door. The one of our dogs will slink into the bedroom and curl tighly into a ball near our pillows and the other will growl. Now, some might say they just caught the scent of a passing coyote or deer. Yeah, I'm sure that's probably all it was.

MUWAHAHAHA!!!

Very nice Mike, I was thinking about dropping by but now I think I will pass /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif

Requiem for a Dream? That movie was about some suburban drug addicts and the problems in their lives... sure it was dramatic, but there wasn't anything scary about it. Was there more than one movie of this title? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

There's only one movie by that name as far as I know. There were lots of people who were freaked out by that movie. It wasn't scary like a horror/slasher movie, but it was very intense and freaky.

Once in a while, something may make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up; but it happens a lot less if you happen to be carrying a Pentalux with you.

The 10 mm is for if you actually DO hear something...

This is sounding more and more like Art Bell & Coast to Coast! (GREAT radio BTW!).

Mike...you should get a metal detector and scope out your property! No telling what you may find! You know lots of folks used to bury their money around in jars & boxes, as well as hide it in empty walls & such! No telling what Mrs. Cornwall did with her stuff!

Ohhhh and if you are in an area where any logging took place...guys used to play cards with gold/silver coins in camps and there's another possibility. I just see that you are from Washington State...I feel like heading down there! If you see some stranger coming up your long driveway with torches lit - it's me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

About 30 years ago I lived in an creepy old house where on two occasions two different people who didn't know each other jumped up and ran to the back of the house saying they saw a face looking in a window. They both returned with really strange looks on their faces when they realized the window was 10 feet off the ground. Was there anything there? Who knows? I did have friends who wouldn't stay in that house alone at night.
