I dropped by a camping store and saw the L2 and A2 in the round tube body like the E series but bigger. Are these the new 2005 L2 and A2? I prefer the 'square' body, they look nicer, feel s better in the hand and IMO grips better while operating. Disappointed. Is this round body design L2/A2 for good? Will SF produce the square body L2 again?

I don't have any idea about no square cross sections in the future, but Surefire lights certainly do seem to continually evolve.

I much prefer the rounded body though. This is what I was waiting for before ordering an L2. Next pay cycle. . .

I have the square body L2 and I have to agree with you, Hoya, that I find it a lot more comfortable than the newer round bodies. I'm sure plenty of the square bodies could still be found on B/S/T. How many times has SF changed the body shape of the E2e? I know of at least three. I say buy it when there is a body shape available that appeals to you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The square body is more difficult to fabricate than the round body, IMO. Well, the store guy told me just now that it is going to be for godd.....:( Come on SF!

SureFire design evolves.

The M3 bezel is a great example of this...
At some point I will add the two other styles (truncated hex with fins, and scalloped rather than crenelated current style) to a new photo.

My point is that SureFire may continue to change the body styles over the years. At least they are interchangeable for the most part.
