I just got a YouTube subscription notice and one of the videos is from 4Sevens for a new Quark 123 Mini. I did a quick scan here but am not seeing any threads on it, likewise I'm not seeing anything on the 4Sevens website. Anyone know more about this light? The vid is more of a teaser than anything.

I think the full announcement (along with the mini AA version) is gonna be sometime today...

I watched the video. I really like the looks of it. I just never like the UI of twisties. Now if it had a bezel ring that I could set to the mode I want without going through 2 modes I DON'T want ....

Lonely cr123a light among cr2 lights...

There is some talk of it over in the marketplace in the 4sevens release dates thread here:http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?p=2383559#post2383559

Dang, I forgot to check the Marketplace first! Thanks for the info guys. I really like the shape/size but was hoping for a clicky not another twisty. I've already got the P1 and P1D-CE, P2D, P2D Q5, Civictor AA, NiteCore EZAA and just got the EZCR2. I guess I'm sticking to my PD20 as my main EDC until a better single CR123 clicky light comes along since I'm not a big twisty fan. I think it's fair to say I've got my share of small lights so I'm a bit more selective with my purchases now.
Thanks again!

It's actually smaller than the P1.

I am torn between the AA or the CR123 mini. If I go with the CR123 mini, I need to buy new RCR batteries. If I stick with AA mini, I am good with 6 eneloop. But I know the AA is not going to be as powerful as the CR123.

If I remember right, they're supposed to be using the same circuit/emitter as the Preons, so they can go up to 3.7 volts or something like that and still be regulated. So you could drop a 14500 into a mini AA and get the same power as the mini 123 and still stick with the AA form factor.

The only reason I didn't buy a Preon is I'm trying to standardize everything I've got (including stuff other than flashlights) on the AA size. I was planning on getting the regular QAA as a new EDC light, but even with the twisty interface, I like the smaller size of the new mini AA and have had to change my mind (yet again) as to which one I'll get for my new EDC.

I know I should probably be using eneloops in my lights, but I've already got a big investment in NiMH rechargeables and the ones I have (Energizer) have a great mah rating (2450) that's hard to give up.

Well i wouldn't call this as good investment... Also great mah rating is typed on the paper...In a few months you will have to see this as a typo....

I'd really like a couple of these, but I wonder if they are going to be on the Green side like the other XP-G offerings. :green:

Might have to wait for a review or two . . .

^ yea, really wish 4sevens would try to make a neutral tint available when neutral xp-g's come out. imo they would basically one-up every offering from the nitecore EZ series as far as size, output, modes and hopefully, both cool and neutral tints.

however, the light is so appealing i might forego the neutral tint and just cop one now.. how does 4sevens do it!? :p

That wasn't actually the point I was making. I'm after cool white, as opposed to neutral. Just don't want to get a green one.

Understood. FYI - I don't like green tints either, but my Ti Quark 1xAA Tactical XPG-R5 is great. Compared to some blueish and pinkish lights on a white wall, it has a slight "greenish" tint to it. But I have a Surefire U2 that is pretty white, and my buddies U2 looks green compared to my U2. My Ti Quark makes my white U2 look green. It's all perspective, but if anything, it's very slight.

I just bought a Quark AA mini. :)
