Looks like it's destined more for 5mm LED's; the efficiency figures don't seem amazingly high, around 85%.

i read the datasheet.. it says a max current of 20mA.. just for little leds.. looks really darn nice for little led's though.. however i think the TI chip i found thats similar. .with 400mA max has up to 95% efficiency with the odd bonus of being more efficient at low power which will really extend runtime on a light that has adj. brightness.
