New Fenix Catalog 2022

Sad to see the LD12/17 is being dropped for 2022. Guess I'll need to get a backup copy. LD10 &12/17 were my EDC for almost 14yrs. Still have & use both even after replacing them for lack of the run times/lumen levels as EDC. Needs changed for EDC but the lights never failed me
 
It worked from my PC just fine though with Chrome I did get an unsafe site warning when trying to access the Fenix Light website.
The problem might be with your firewall. Also, open the catalog on the Fenix website first and save it only after it's readable and fully loaded.

I find Fenix have come out with great innovative headlamps over the past few years.
When it comes to flashlights though, I still almost exclusively use Fenix lights released between 2009 and 2013.
Luckily, when they started coming out with the plastic side switch LD/PD/TK lights, I purchased several lights of my favorite old models so I'm good to go for years ahead.

I may have purchased a couple of Fenix flashlights over the last 5 years but more because I needed something I was willing to lose or needed much brighter lights for very specific uses than anything else.

The reason is primarily the Fenix UIs: with very few exceptions, they no longer have multiple selectable modes - as they used to - and lack moonlight or other sufficiently low brightness levels.

I also wouldn't buy models where they remove their iconic crenulation as I really dig the ability to let dim light bleed through it at night or being able to see if the light is still accidentally on when the flashlight is sitting head down.

It's a shame since quality-wise I find Fenix lights to be still great or even better than they used to be.

To be clear, I have no experience with the brand, though I'm certainly curious after having perused the catalog. Some of these edge into the territory of "too good to be true" as far as WML go, and Fenix's advertising clearly indicates that's the intended application for some of these.

The TK16 for instance, 36k candela and 3100-1000 lumens, for $99 plus a $20 remote switch/mount? Compare that to the Streamlight HL-X and that's very favorable, but can anyone comment on its ability to survive recoil?

I own / use a number of Fenix lights, but can't answer that - however.....

The FL1-compliant impact rating of the ProTac HL-X is 2 meters, while the FL1-compliant impact rating of the TK16 appears to be 1 meter (their non-FL1-compliant 'internal testing' rating notation of 1.5 M mentioned elsewhere not withstanding). That may sound like an inconsequential difference, but in practice, given the FL-1 test specs / methodology, it is a significant difference. The extent to which that correlates with its ability to withstand recoil is unknown, but based on that, my money would be on the HL-X. They are both PLATO member companies, I definitely believe SL's ratings are 'proper', and I have no reason to believe otherwise of Fenix.
 
The 2022 catalog was updated last April.

There seem a few additions compared to the 2022 catalog released in December 2021.

I noticed the PD25R and a few lights from the E series.

Nothing that I'd be interested in but some of you might find some of the new flashlights interesting.
