New guy looking for advice

Hi guys!
I'm new here, though I've been perusing the forums for some time now after seeing references on other forums.

I'm the proud new owner of two Surefires: a G2L, and G3L. I love those lights, and spent way more on either of them than I ever thought I'd spend on a flashlight.
However, I'm very happy with my new acquisitions. :thumbsup:

Now I'm considering a smaller light. I like the G2L when I wear cargo pants, it's not a big deal, but without the extra pockets it's not exactly a convenient carry :)

So, doing some researching, I'm now torn between the Fenix P1D, the Fenix PD10, and the Quark Mini 123. They each appeal to me, though some of the issues with the Quark turning on in pocket doesn't strike me as favorable.
I like certain features of all of them, I'm just looking for a simple, powerful LED pocket light.

Thoughts?

I have the Quark Mini123 and love it for a small, simple EDC light. I've never had a problem of it turning on in my pocket but I twist the head beyond the point where the light cuts out. This is my primary EDC.

Some other lights to look at are the ITP A3 EOS/Maratac AAA 1xAAA, JetBeam RRT-0 and JetBeam Jet I Pro v3. I have the first 2 and looking to get the Jet I Pro v3 soon. The RRT-0 is nice because it takes 1xAA (w/ AA extender) or 1x123 and the levels are controlled by a selector ring and turns on with a forward clickie-switch. Light out put is impressive with the AA but even more so w/ the 123. This JetBeam is attached to my EDC backpack strap. I like the ITP/Maratac as an in-pocket backup light but have used it as a primary EDC for prior to getting mt Q Mini123. It is a diminutive light w/ simple 3-level twisty, good output and nice low low.

Get a Titanium or stainless steel Flashlight.

I've been carrying different lights for pocket carry but now I settled for a stainless steel ITP A3 (1xAAA) which is not bulky even in fitted pants and looks great too.:twothumbs
I still carry 3 more lights in my bag.:grin2:

I'm sure there's about a million choices out there. My choice for an everyday pocket carry is a JetBeam RRT-0.

I myself prefer McGizmo's for an EDC light.

that's good to hear about the Quark. Those JetBeams look fantastic, but a little out of my price range unfortunately (yeah, I've said that before! :whistle:)

I really boils down to if you want the small size and pocketability of a 1xAAA light or the output of a 123 light or the runtime advantage of a AA light over a AAA one.

I've got the Fenix PD20+ (~$57+) and think it's a great EDC light. It fits perfectly in that small 5th pocket that most jeans have; is barely noticeable when carried; takes a single primary CR123A battery; reverse clicky; 190 lumens max; can tail-stand; and lights up a small room with ceiling bounce.

I was also looking for something a bit smaller as well, but didn't want to spend a lot so I also just ordered an ITP A1 based on selfbuilt's review:

The ITP A1 only costs about $24; takes a single 123 batt; has a max output of 190 lumens (1.6 hours) but is smaller than the Fenix PD20. The ITP A1 is only 2.35" long.

Quark Mini is my choice. I have never had it accidentally turn on in my pocket and it is a great little light, very powerful. I love this light!

Oh, don't worry, the others will stay on the list for later, but for now, it's the ITP, which I would have not known about until this discussion, so thanks a bunch!
Also, I think I'm going to get a Fenix E01 - I wasn't too interested in them before, seemed to similar to my Mag Solitaire, but further investigation shows them to be much better than the Soli, and cheaper than trying to mod the Soli (not that that will stop me later...). I really like the Solitaire, but hate that I can get more light out of a WintOGreen Lifesaver through its triboluminescence than a stock Solitaire :grin2:

EOS is nothing of significance. Consider it a branding thing. Or make up something. How bout, "Each One's Super"?

that's kinda what I figured, kinda like with the Canon EOS cameras, just a naming convention of some sort.
But, there's all kinds of acronyms and such I'm having to learn here, so I wanted to make sure

I prefer incandescents so I use the E1e with the LF HO E1A bilb as my single cell EDC.
