So i have been around here for a while and finally think i am ready to put down the money for a very nice flashlight. I have been drawn towards OLight, specifically the M21 and M31 Models. Have any of you had and experience with these models? I have the money to buy either of them and even then the cost is only 30$ different so my question is which is best for a casual user who will use it take out camping and home renovation, etc. I like how bright the M31 goes, but the battery life is less that half of the M21, which has half as much lumen output. Which brings me to my next question, are they really able to output 500 lumen for the M21 and 800 lumen for the M31?
From what i understand, the M21 is safer because it only contains one battery when in operation, correct? So as a beginner into Liion Batteries, if i were to just measure the voltage of the battery before and after charging to make sure it is in between the right ranges 4.2v down to 2.75v (are those generally safe?).
When i am looking for 18650 Batteries, i am thinking about getting either Redilast or AW Ones and either the wf-139 or the nicer Pila IBC Charger. Will these brands of batteries fit in those models of olights because they are protected? I already have a nice voltmeter so i am covered on that front. Other than checking voltage and storing the batteries outside of the flashlight, are there any other huge things i should know before making my purchase? Thanks!
