Good Morning everyone. I have been lurking in here for a few days now reading as much as possible. I am looking for a few recomendations on a light. I would like a rechargeable light, something maybe 6-8inches in lenght. I was looking closely at some of the offerings from Surefire and Pelican. I read some issues with the Surefire batteries so I decided against them so far. I really liked the Pelican 7060 but the drawback was the fact that it only has one setting. I am looking for something more variable.

I currently have a Surefire 6p that is very old and I love it, I also have a Streamlight PolyStinger that I leave in my shop. I would use the light for many different tasks from dog walking to working on cars and trucks.

I had no idea there were so many options. I have read through the reviews and some of them seem great and I have to tell myself to not get too tempted to just buy a few and go from there.

Please if anyone has any suggestions or more questions please feel free to chime in!

You can get 2 rechargeable CR123s for your 6P and use Incan assemblies which are compatiable with rechargeable or a LED drop-in.

I'm guessing that you'd prefer cradle charge instead of separate rechargeable batteries.

Thanks!, yes you are correct I do prefer to cradle charge the light. I got use to that with the Streamlight that I have and like the fact that it has a second battery ready to go. I find that keeps me from charging the light even when its not used up.

Plus the 6p stays in my daily driver as a great small utility light. This light would live in my home more or less and be more of a go to light thats located in a place thats easy to grab for general use.
