Ditto. I always thought that yellow laser offered by laserglow looked like one of CNI's, but never could find it on the CNI Page.

Yeah I noticed that when I put the order through...the blue would be the mo-fo!

Craig, You should hit up CNI for a sample unit for evaluation, get then to check out your site. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Very, very, very good idea!!!
I just sent them the following message:

To whom it may concern,

I'm very interested in evaluating your 473nm blue DPSS laser module on my website.
My website, The LED Museum, is fairly popular for a niche website, with an estimated 65,000,000 visitors since late-1999, with the vast majority of visits occurring within the last two years.

I have evaluations of what I believe are two of your products already: a green laser module at http://ledmuseum.candlepower.us/second/pgliii.htm and a yellow laser module at http://ledmuseum.candlepower.us/yelldpss.htm

If you're amenable to having this type of evaluation published, please send the blue laser module to the address at the bottom of this message, and let me know you've sent it so I can add it to the "Coming Soon" sections of my website.

Thank you, and have a fantastic week - or what's left of it anyway. :-)

this will be great if they do send it... im interested to see it in action and hear some things about it... i warn you though, whoever answers the emails at CNI has a very hard time understanding what you say, (to no fault of their own), and will often only read a PART of what you write... it may take a few emails and re-explanations of what you do and why they should trust you to get it to happen though... once they get it though i think they will definetly do it (good for business!).. good luck though!

You might want to tell them that you will return the laser after reviewing it. Couldn't hurt.

Craig,

I used alta vista to translate your message that you sent to CNI. You may have better luck if you send it in Chinese.

I'll send it along to the same email address I used to write them in the first place...BRB...ok, email sent! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Its not easy to make a blue / yellow laser using existing DPSS technology. The fact that they made it portable is impressive enought to warrarnt a seperate product all its own.

If I remember correctly, for a DPSS blue laser, the temperature tolerances are extremely narrow and require crystals far less common than YVO4 and KTP.

A yellow pointer is basically a green one where the YVO4 radiates two frequencies, and then the green is filtered out. Basically a "psuedo multimode" system. Its quite impressive technology.
