NEW SOLAR FORCE L2M PROBLEM

I received an new L2M with the 3 mode XL-M U2 module and I like it alot, great fit and finish( in my opinion) but after it is on high for for approx 1 minute it flickers at a very high rate. does this mean I have a bad emiter or what? I wanted to check here before I send it back. thanks Mark

Rated voltage of the dropin? And as wertzius asked what kind of battery are you using?

It only flickers on High and sometimes it is ok( not a consistant flicker) and I am running a near new Panasonic 18650 3100 nonprotected. the dropin voltage is 2.7 - 9 thanks, Mark

If you bump it (against your hand or whatever) does it stop flickering?

Interesting, I just returned the same dropin to solarforce because it flickered and would change modes by simply tapping your finger lightly on the flashlight head. I got a prompt replacement.

This tells of loose connection. Like not fitted drop-in.

Most drop-in will not do this but some does and has to do with tolerances.
I have about 5 drop in's and one body (out of 5 hosts) will do this no matter which drop-in I have in there. The wrapping with foil eliminates all blinking/mode changing issues. So I wrap all drop-ins with foil as this helps with heat transfer which is why you want to do it.

also had one with similiar symptoms that ended up being loose at the switch end tightened the ring holding the switch inside and no problems since.

I have had a few that flickered, until I tightened up the switch with snap ring pliers.
