New Thrunite Neutron 1xAA issue

Hi all,

I just got a few new torches today in the mail and one of them was the Thrunite Neutron. Though I am having an issue with it.

When the secondary setting (loose head) is set to the lowest setting and I rotate the head between primary and secondary the secondary does not always come on when on the lowest setting. Here is a quick video if you do not know what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J768kicxnW4 It seems to work ok on all other setting besides the lowest.

Has anyone seen this or have any ideas?

I have the same problem with my Neutron 1C. It's annoying. It should work without issue on a nice flashlight like this.

What can Pighunt and I do about it?

I recently noticed this on my neutral white 1A. Sometimes when I loosen the head the light will appear to be off, sometimes not (as in sometimes it works). However when it appears to be off, I can still soft press and cycle through the modes. This will also happen at times from off and in the loosened head position if I attempt to turn on the light.

Odd enough, this behavior does not appear on my cool white 1A.

It is not exactly clear what is happening in the video. When you loosen the head, does the light not come on at all or is it coming on in a mode higher than low sometimes?

I just bought a cool 1aa and a neutral 2aa and they both do what the OP describes, regardless of which head is on which body.

When loosening the head sometimes the light does not come on at all.

I would use the warranty and return it. Mine does not do this. If you just purchased it, send it back to the reseller and ask for a replacement. Perhaps threads got anodized that should not have been?

I just checked my new Neutron 1C Neutral and sure enough...when going from the lowest mode to the highest mode and back it does not stay on every time...very strange and not right...

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about this at all. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm considering sending it back to the dealer and trying something different.

I tried it again last night with mine and I cannot duplicate your problem so clearly it is not normal.

Because of the low to high issue my seller has offered to take my Thrunite Neutron 1C Neutral back for an exchange or refund...but I can't imagine a better single cell RCR123A light out there.

I am not sure what to do now...

Hey guys you can go to Thrunite's Business section on here and ask the company what is going on with them. I have a new Scorpion that I love but it seems people are having issues with the magnetic switch on them. They turn on in lock out mode when near a magnetic impulse.:( See ya !

Hi tdc207, I did find a thread in that area from someone else after I posted this one. I have also posted in it though Thrunite is yet to respond. I too was going to buy the Scorpion as my single 18650 light but decided against it for the same reasons, otherwise I really liked it.

Hello Pighunt, Didn't know, tryin' to help out. It will probably take a little time evidently, but it appears he checks the threads often. If he will respond which he probably will,seems like a decent guy and interested in making a better product. Don't hesitate on the Scorpion though, because trust me it's an awesome piece of light gear. I thought it was great that the company was offering to make a different switch just for us CPF'ers. I wish everyone would have jumped on board for that, I just hate I caught the thread a little late. Pull the trigger on the Scorpion you won't regret it !

I did a video to help (hopefully) better show what is going on. Please excuse any rambling. I do want to note that I just recently discovered this a few weeks ago (light was purchased months ago but boxed up after initial testing), and this issue does not present itself on my cool white version.

Edited to add: This occurs both when using a 14500 li-ion or eneloop. This also only occurs (on my sample) when I have the memory mode (head loose) set to firefly.

Perfect video, moshow9. It explains the problem clearly and accurately. Now hopefully Thrunite will fix the problem and take care of the retailers who are getting Neutron flashlight returns.
