New to paypal

Hmm... I wanted to get a Lambda Illuminator earlier and couldn't because I was too late, and I couldn't pay because I didn't have paypal.

So now I've gone ahead and signed up for a paypal account. And I have no idea how it works. Can you guys please let me know the basics with a paypal account?

I know I can transfer funds from my Australian bank account, and it takes about a week's time. Do I have to have funds in the account to pay someone? What other ways can I add funds to my account?

The help link on their home page pretty much covers everything you want to know about the service.

If you opened a paypal account with a bank acccount you need to have funds transferred to paypal to send money. You also have the option of using a credit card to send payments.

If you opened the account with a credit card , you don't need to transfer funds to paypal, but there are a bunch of restrictions on how much you can spend and how you can receive funds
