NEW WIN A FREE FLASHLIGHT CONTEST !!!!!!!!!!!

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

It looks like I either pissed some people off or this thing has been forgotten about. Come on, I know there are more of you interested in a flashlight like this then just the few that have entered. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe it just needed a bump. With the new and outstanding CPF format, a forum and a topic can go to multiple pages quickly.

My choice for the flashlight's name and color:

Name: Tachyon (definition: Hypothetical subatomic particle whose velocity is always greater than that of light.)

Color: Black

Nerd,
I have been trying to keep him up to speed but with all he has going like ordering samples of flashlights I have been suggesting, shipping other products, maintaining his other businesses, attending to phone calls, managing his websites and half a dozen or so other things (or maybe more) he gets pretty busy. This is why I am taking care of this for him until it comes time to award the winner of the contest.

Icebreak,
I have noticed things are moving pretty quick on the forum these days. I'll post something and if I don't check back everyday I have to do a little searching to find where I left off. I'm just surprised that there have not been more entries then there has been. IF I could I would enter but that wouldn't be right cause I think I would win. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Yeah, I think it just needed a bump that why I posted again.

I have even started another post over in buy/sell/trade to try to help gain some interest in Mad Dog and I am doing all the work on this one myself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Take a look here.

Name = German Shepherd (GS-LS5)
Color = HAIII Natural

The German Shepherd is the pioneer Seeing Eye Dog as will this new light be the pioneer in setting the standard for rechargeable 5 Watt LS Flashlights, to give its owners Sight in the Night. Similar attributes of this new GS-LS5 light to the German Shepherd breed are: Power; Guardian Protection; Elegance; Intelligence; Ruggedness; Nobility; Self-Confidence; Reliability; Devotion and Loyalty.

It is the most popular breed used by the Military and Law Enforcement, as this new light will strive to be. At the same time it is also the most popular breed for family protection, which will be the ability of this new light to serve and protect a diverse market of owners.

The German Shepherd is of middle size with enough weight to be effective as a patrolman but not so big to be cumbersome. It can cover a lot of ground gracefully with almost no effort. It has a water resistant outer coat, and is a Natural breed which does not require unusual grooming.

Characterized by its great adaptability and physical prowess, the German Shepherd is respected, admired and utilized throughtout the world, and can make for an excellent companion for its owner.

LEDmodMan,
Just as soon as my partner tells me what name he prefers his flashlight to be called by the contest will be over. When that happens is up to him because he is the man with the money, I am just helping him. I will announce the winner here on this forum just as soon as my partner lets me know who won. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Have you been wathching Crufts, One001?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/crufts
On the dog theme, I prefer the German Shepherd Dog's previous name, Alsatian (bearing in mind that the word has got to fit onto the torch!
Although the name has apparently been changed officially, i still think that most people of a certain age call them Alsatians (a much more concise and "tidy" name for the breed.).
Other torches of different sizes and powers could be different dog breeds.
Colour of body: Brown and Black
Colour of LED Cyan, (5W Luxeon?)

EMPOWERTORCH,
Nope, not up on that website. I do like dogs and there are plenty of noble breeds out there but I do not know if breed names would be what my partners looking for. By the way did you get the bit on the remote ballasts for the lab? And I don't mean retriever. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohgeez.gif

With a unique company name like Mad Dog Light Company - why not?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Sure would make sense, and German Shepherd with all its outstanding qualities and attributes, and the diversity of its owners, which include law enforcement, military, families and the blind, is the most logical choice for your most prestigious and most powerful LED LS flashlight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Who said this flashlight was the pick of the litter? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif What if he did pick German Sheperd and then one of these 15 watt three L/S or a 6 watt three LED Nichia jobs came into play.
To be honest I was trying to keep this thread clean of chatter but that is just a little too much even for me. I figure you guys are looking at me out of the corner of your eyes about this time anyway. You know me starting the post all over again. Dogs cats lions tigers bears I don't know what he is going to pick really. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Hey ya Dizos,
Thanks for asking and bumping this thread up again. The last word I got was that the manufacturer of these flashlights was having problems getting the 5-watt L/Ss from Lumiled or that they were waiting for the greater longevity L/S models to come out. My partner knows of all the questions that have been asked and he has had some language barriers to overcome. This is pretty typical dealing with overseas manufacturers from what I hear but this is looking like one of the best models of flashlights that The Mad Dog Light Company has come across. Some things just take some time and just as soon as I here that we have the samples on the way I will let you folks here know all that I do. It should be at that time that we will know when the end of this contest is going to come around as well.
Hang tight folks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
