Hello CPF,
Wolf Eyes is entering the pocket flashlight market with the Angel series. A 1-CR123 and 1-AA size flashlight will be the first and I'm sure there will be a 2 – AA soon.

I wanted to get some feedback on how many and which modes everyone wants. Personally I like 2 modes with high and low but perhaps 3 modes with high, medium and low would sell better.

Do you like Strobe? Remember this is a small pocket flashlight so the strobe may not be powerful enough for tactical use although the strobe on my L1D works great annoying my wife. :naughty: How about SOS?

Any other popular combinations that are not listed will be considered and WE can make custom combinations if 50 or more flashlights are ordered.

I'm sure you have noticed there is a single cell charger in the picture, should we sell this one or the CH-02 two cell charger?

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

I know I am the only person here who does not routinely need a tactical advantage to blind and disorient an endless barrage of assailants , but I'd still prefer not to have the strobe and SOS features on a small pocket light. Just give me the 3 mode version.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

Gee Mike, those are mighty fine looking little pocket lights. There definitely seem to be 2 camps as far as number of levels goes. Personally, I like three levels. Max is whatever they decide they can do..... but I think most folks will end up using the middle level most, so that's an important one to get right. I've found 60-80 lumens about right for most of my needs. Then it would be nice to have a LOW low level....... say 1-2 lumens.

I have never used the SOS or strobe features of my current lights, but wouldn't mind having it available if it can be done in a way that isn't intrusive on normal operation.

I'm happy to see Wolf-Eyes entering this lucrative segment of the market, good luck with it.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

Also how many people would pass on a light like this based on the fact it says "Angel" on it? :)

Maybe a poll on the name too. :p

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

I like 2 mode, but I'll echo the cry for forward clickies as well. I find reverse is only useful in the too-many-mode lights. Reverse might be okay for a 4-mode, but I'm a simple low low and high high kinda guy.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

High and low (about 5-10 lumen), forward clickie, level switching through twisting the tailcap or head and some knurling.

Not ever going to buy a light with a reverse clickie for EDC. WE makes some nice forward clickies so they should know how to do it right.

The light looks nice and the clip is a great addition.

Hi Mike, hopefully you can lean on Wolf-Eyes to use forward switches.

That'll be a deciding factor for many people from CPF.

...3-mode

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

Three levels for me. I'd actually prefer the low to be lower than 2% for night adapted vision.

Forward clickie would be great!

I voted for 4 modes, but for an EDC I prefer one that starts out on low. And a REAL low-low, not some kind of semi-medium on a bad day. Or, if there is some way (like bezel twisting) to be able to select Max or Lowest before turning the light on, that would be great.

+1, agree to every word

There is also a general preference for textured reflectors. I put my vote in for 3 modes. Nice look to the lights.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

I like the older JetBeam MKX UI. Low, Medium, High and then Strobe.

It wouldn't bother me to switch brightness modes like the Olight, with the bezel, and call the strobe with the forward clickie.

I currently EDC a Olight T15 Q5, T20 Q5 and a Rexlight 2.1 0002. That probably gives a hint as to my preferences.

With an honorable mention given to my Dereelight 3SH OP P60 pill.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

Very nice.

Tow modes two levels each.

Low mode has an ultra low (1-3lm) and a medium low (10-20lm).
High mode has a medium high (60-100lm) and a turbo mode (full blast).

Maybe something like a bezel turn or a fast triple click  to switch modes. Each mode starts in lower setting by default. Memory function would also be cool but not required.

While you're at it a small espresso machine as an accessory would be nice.

Oh Lanyard attach point on the removable clip and/or body.

I definitely prefer the three-mode light, hands down. +1 for a low-low, like 2 lumens (not 2%). I think high mode on any "useful" light should be able to last 60 or more minutes, so the drive level should be set accordingly.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

I think the 100% and 20% sound like decent level choices but I agree that the low should be low enough that someone out in the dark can check the trail quickly and turn the light off again without becoming night-blind.

I hate going for walks at night using a light as it ruins the enjoyment of walking at night and if I want to walk under lights I can go to town.

I'm really happy with my L0D Q4 but the low beam is too bright.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

They look nice. I prefer 3 modes - Low/Medium/High. A memory last setting is a big plus.

Why do both models have to have the same diameter? Part of the advantage of an AA light (besides easy to obtain batteries) is a slimmer profile. I like that they can both use lithium rechargables.

Re: New Wolf Eyes Angel Pocket flashlight

2 or 3 modes with a forward clickie. For tactical reasons, I do NOT carry my P3D as a defensive light due to that issue alone. A main reason I ordered a Lumapower Incendio today.
