I have a surefire e2e and know nothing about led technology. I was wondering if there is a drop in led conversion for this light, which you would recommend and what the advantages/disadvantages of this change would be. Thanks

Surefire sells a replacement head to turn it into the latest model E2L (3 lumen, 60 lumen). But that costs about what you paid for the E2E ($109) and you can find a whole E2L for about that same price.

Lumensfactory sells replacement incandescent lamps. Even ones that work with rechargeables. This might be the best option for you, especially if you like the incandescent light.

Bugoutgear had a head for the light, but I don't see it on their website now.

:welcome:

If you really want an awsome mod for your E2E check out the Milky Room Sweeper. You send Scott the light and PP and he sends you back a pocket rocket in about a month. He is currently working on mine.

If you are looking for a simpler solution just go to surefires site and buy one of their LED heads, all you have to do is take the old head off, put the new head on and your good. You will get much longer runtime, much more throw w/ surefire TIR (total internal reflecting) Lens, and a beam that is more white in color than the yellow from your stock E2e.

I'd go with the Lumens Factory lamp assemblies and then an LED head stock from SureFire.

forget about turning your e2e into something it is not. in stead, make the most of what it is!
get a LF h0-2e incan bulb and some rechargeable batts (AW rcr123) and you're loaded for bear.
if you want led in an e2e you should look look into a NovaTac.
