This might be in the wrong section, but I just had to post a thank you the whole community. As long as I can remember I have had an obsession with flash lights if all kinds( usually maglites),but thanks to discovering this forum I finally purchased my first real light( Fenix TK11 R5). My collection is small, but thank you all for making me feel not quite as crazy over my obsession.

I'm looking at the 4sevens quark cr123>2 as an EDC though in worried it may be to big for comfortable pocket carry, should I get the single 123 instead?
Any suggesttions are welcome. My only stipulation is it
must have a clip.
Thanks again for making me feel welcome.

I guess it depends on how big is too big for you. For me, the quark 123-2 is too big for EDC. I use the 123 which is nearly a bright and amazingly small. It does not have the run time of the dual cr123a light though. It does amaze people at how bright a little flashlight can be. So far the Quark 123 is my favorite single cr123a light (I don't have an HDS RA clicky yet though).

:welcome:

You have come to the right place. I am not sure to give you the best advice here, you will be helped by other helpful members. But even with helpful advices it's not easy because the flashlight area is a jungle!

Good luck, Patric

I have carried the Quark AA2 in my front left pocket, it's slightly longer than the 123-2. It is noticeable but mostly when sitting (which I get to do little of). My Quark single AA or 123 with D10 clips I can't even tell they are there. I'd say the single 123 is my favorite.

I just picked up the TK11 as my first nice light too, cruising this forum I do believe is going to lead to a divorce for me as I have become obsessed:twothumbs:twothumbs:twothumbslovecpf...

:welcome:

You can actually buy a Quark Mini 123 & put a AW CR123A in it. It's excellent for EDC and is crazy bright. Just make sure you don't use high for more than a few minutes or the LED will overheat and go :poof:

Welcome to the forums. I too consider myself a beginner, a step up from a newbie. I am learning as I go and I am enjoying it. :)

I'd say go for the 123^2 for the greater runtime with 2 cells, and the better grip you can get on the longer body.

I pocket carry a SureFire E2e, which is very similar in dimensions to the 123^2, and I hardly notice it. IMO, a 1.3" difference in length isn't all that much anyway. I've noticed that peoples' perception of what is "too big" varies greatly, though.

And welcome to CPF. :)
