Newbie Question, Proper Charging?

I have a dual battery charger, I believe - room for two. So, when I put each of two 18650 batteries in singly, charger reads green. When I put them in together charger reads red. So, anyone help with how to charge two batteries, singly or together? And how to tell if both are charged, I don't understand why if singly each reads green/charged, that they don't together when put in the charger also read green/charged. ?

(As far as charging one battery, unless this defies logic I assume you put that one in).

All it says on the back is "Video/Digital Camera" [in small print at top] "TRAVEL CHARGER" underneath the first. Charger and two batteries were bought and sent as package; batteries "UtraFire" 18650 3.7V

Stats on the back of charger: "Product name: Charger
-----------------------------------Input: AC 100V-240V 50/60Hz

-----------------------------------Output: DC 4.2V-------------------600mAh"

I imagine two batteries will take longer to charge than one battery as the charger only has a certain output, and when there are batteries in both slots the output has to be shared between the two of them. So if you put only one battery in the slot the charger may think it is fully charged already and go green, but if you put two batteries the charger may think there is still a bit more charging to do. Have you tried leaving the two batteries on charge for a while to see how long before the light goes green?

It's a bit scary that you bought a no name lithium ion charger from China like that. Watch it carefully while it is in use and make sure to put it in a safe location far away from anything flammable.

I find it easier to put the batteries in the charger first, and then plug it in. The charger prefers it this way. Rather than plug the charger in and then add the batteries. I am not sure if that would make any difference in your situation.

First time I used it charged two - can't recall the time required, 5-6 hrs, something like that.

My light takes one battery (very good light by the way: SkyRay 800 lumen - just bought their 4500 lumen, haven't received it yet).

Seems to be working fine.
