Niagara 2D Flashlight

A search here and at Flashlight Museum's site didn't turn up any info on the Niagra brand of lights. While rummaging around in the basement I came accross my grandfather's old 2D flashlight. This one is at least from the 1950's. Typical chromed steel tube, slide on/off with momentary push button. Got one too?

Are you sure it isn't spelled Niagara instead of Niagra? Perhaps both spellings apply.

Thanks FlashlightMuseum. Such a doofus! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I edited the title to correct the spelling. Obviously, I'm not from Gnu Yoke state or I'd have known.

The light I've got is similar to but shorter than the Ash Flash 2D that I acquired a couple weeks ago. It may be older than from the 1950's but it's at least that old and still works. Unlike the Ash Flash, this one doesn't have an, identifiably, original lamp.

Years ago, unless the flashlight was dropped, the lamps seemed to last forever. That may be a testament to how much batteries have improved and the common use of alkalines nowadays.
