I have some cheap NiCD cells that have actually been somewhat amazing. They are from an old set of solar lights that I trashed because they broke. I wish I would have kept them because I didn't realize how hard it is to find a solar post light with an actual charging and boost circuit (one AA cell, two white LEDs).
However, one of the cells is now taking well over 600mAh(1C) to charge. I tend to stop the charge at 800mAh because I don't want a cell to explode in my charger. It gets warmer than the other but not alarmingly hot. I am charging both cells at 1C in a Maha C9000.
Why would a cell stop terminating? I'm sure it should have been tossed long ago but the capacity is still at the rated capacity.
