Those are so cool.

A company named EluminX claims to hold license to the patent for backlit keyboards in the U.S. and "pending" in 27 other countries, probably claiming Germany too.

Who makes that one, and are you able to tell whether the keys are hard-plastic or spongy? (No such info on IlluminX's site)
 
@unnerv - Actually I like the small size, since I'm used to notebook keyboards and my workspace is pretty much stuffed with other electronic gear /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

@binky - It's made by Keysonic (model number ACK-610EL). The keys are hard plastic and give a nice feedback...

If only they made a "split-n-hump" ergonomic verison - I`d buy one! But those desk-hogs are getting harder to find it seems. Maybe most folks just find them too big? Nowhere local here sells them any more.....

Does it make that annoying EL noise though? My ears are highly sensative to high frequencies (I think I might be a dog) and a high-pitch squealing keyboard would drive me NUTS!
 
@Saaby - Unfortunately, yes it does squeal a tiny bit... But with all the extra fans in my computer I didn't notice it at all, until you brought that point up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Although, at first I thought of this as nothing more than a gimmick for LAN parties, it has somewhat grown onto me since last night. It's bright enough to easily see the keys but not too bright - just perfect for nightowls like me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif IMHO it's worth the ~ 20 USD I paid for it...

I completely agree with you guys on ergonomic/split keyboards - I'm still using my (original) Microsoft Natural Keyboard from years back, with the reverse tilt. There's no other keyboard that I would consider if it wasn't similar.
 
Actually, I want one of these for my Playstation 2.
However, I haven't seen any with native USB.
Is there one I missed?
Since I want to use it with my PS2, I can't use one of those USB to ps2 adapters.

I just picked up a Microsoft Natural Keyboard the other day, AND I LOVE IT!!! It was on sale for $20.00 off at Office Max. Good luck for those of you trying to find one, I hope this tip helps.
