NIHM chargers

Hello everyone,

I'm going to buy AA/AAA eneloops, and other NIHM batteries (C, D, 9V, LSD if possible) and I'm looking for NIHM chargers for them.
I have a Varta for regular NIHMs, but i don't have that much trust in it.

I've been searching the forums, but i'm still not sure what to get.

The first question i have is, is there an 'advanced' charger like Sanyo MQR06 or Powerex MH-C9000 for C, D or 9v? I mean, something that doesn't just charge for a certain time.
For instance, the MH-C808M, is it anything like the C9000?
If not, what chargers do you recommend? For C, D and/or 9v.

And in your opinion, for AA/AAA (in case there isn't a really good all round charger), should i get the MQR06 or the MH-C9000?

I don't expect to get teh ultimate answer, but i want to know your opinion on this matter.

I have both the C9000 and the C808M.
I can say that if you have AAA, AA, C, and D NiMh cells, I haven't seen a better 8-bay, 8 channel, 2A per channel, charger than the C808M.
It doesn't have the digital display for giving mAh and voltage readouts like the C9000, but it does a good job of charging, IMO, and from what I've experienced, actually owning and using it.
Some of the things I particularly like about the C808M, apart from the obvious are:
-It detects when the cell you have put in is a AAA, and therefore it cares for it by applying a lower charge rate automatically.
-It has a good deep cycle charge/discharge/charge refresh cycle.
-For AA and AAA, it has a "soft charge" function which uses a lower charge rate, for if you aren't in a hurry.
It can do the Soft charge for C and D cells too, but there isn't a lot of point, because 2A is already a soft charge for a high capacity cell like a 9Ah D cell.
- As they are all individual channels, when only charging 4 cells, you can space them all apart with 1 bay gap between each cell, so there is no cell-to-cell heating, and better airflow between cells.

If you have AA/AAA/C/D cells, and are only going to buy 1 charger, this would be the one I would get.

On the other hand, for AA cells, the C9000 provides some capacity analyzing functions that you don't get with the C808M.

I can recommend the C808M too. I've been using it since its release and I haven't found a better C/D charger. I also have the Accumanager 20 with its lower charge rate, and 4 fewer bays, for comparison. I use a LaCrosse charger/analyzer for AA/AAA batteries.

There is also Ansmann Energy XC3000.
But it is expensive.
