Just then I was playing with the 9aa>3d adapter Illum generously sent me. I disassembled it and put it back together in the wrong way :(. There was a spark and then the cells got really hot. What should I do with these cells?

Use them... :)
You can run some tests on them to see how much they have been effected, and you may have to take care if you use them in multicell applications, but if they charge up and still have at least 80% of their initial capacity, use them.

My only 1aa light as at warrentee so no runtime tests. :sick2: But internal resistance and voltage is normal:cool:
