Nitecore D10 Defect?

I have just purchased a Nitecore D10 GDP, but it isn't working per the manual or online tutorials.

I insert an Eneloop AA, and tighten the body against the head, but in the tightened position, I cannot click the light on or off. I can only do so if I untwist the head about 3/4 of a turn, and then I am able to use the clicker to turn the light on or off. Using the twisty on and off works as it should.

I have rotated the brass split ring to see if that would help, and also cleaned and relubed the PD - neither solved the problem.

If anyone out there has encountered this problem, and have found a fix, please let me know. I would be eternally grateful :)

Check the spring in the bottom of the battery tube. It may not be seated all the way or one coil may be resting on another.

The spring in the PD appears to be O.K.

I forgot to mention that in the fully tightened position, the PD is not locked in tight as I am able to push it somewhat so I don't think that battery length has anything to do with the problem. In any case, i did try a variety of AA's (alkalines and NiMh) but the problem persists.

I`ve measured my D10 that works completely correctly so that you can measure your light to see if there are any slight machining mistakes that might be the cause of your problem. The measurements were made with a precision caliper accurate to 0.001¨/0.02mm.. Inside tail: 2.204¨/55.98mm., piston shoulder to open end: 2.225¨/56.52mm., piston protusion when placed in tail: 0.021¨/0.54mm., inside head with brass ring depressed: 0.349¨/8.88mm., tail thread shoulder to head end of tail: 0.312¨/7.96mm. If any of your measurements differ much from mine IMHO that is where the problem is and a replacement is in order. Good luck.:):welcome:
