Nitecore D10 GD+

Hey guys... was thinking of doing something stupid....

was thinking of putting in a MC-E or P7 into a D10 GD+...

has anyone done that already? any pics? anything i should be aware of?

also, if i do nothing but swap the emitters... u think there's gonna be more light from a MC-E or P7 than the GD+?

You will get more light from the MC-E, but the beam will not be as focused as the single die CREE. You may even see artifacts related to the four dice in the beam at close range.

But, if you are looking for a nice floody light, go for it. You might be the first to do it. :thumbsup: Oh yeah, we want pictures of the build, and beam shots. :D

i hate being the first!!! (tho i don't think i am... i think darkzero did it?)

yeah... the reflector will have to be modded for sure... and it probably isn't very focused... but it will be mostly flood... hopefully it's not gonna have a weird beam pattern tho.... i wonder if there's any good optics that would fit??!

i guess if i go MC-E ... i would have to go parallel... i've read that the D10's driver gives out about 600mA... so about 150mA to each die...

don't know how useful of a light this will be?!?! guess there's only 1 way to find out... i don't have the light yet... but when i do... i'll try to put one in...
