I've had the opportunity to play with the Nitecore EC2 for a while and didn't really like it other than the nice locator beacon. Only got it because my recent like are things with Trits or beacons.

To be honest the quality isn't that great. The sticker is even on skewed, but luckily they pack a spare in the box.

What really changes this light is the Nitecore diffuser. Using it changes the light "McGizmo Mule" like. The swath of light in a super wide angle it produces is brilliant -- especially with the mode levels. Now the diffuser isn't the best quality either (lens keeps falling out albeit inward, not out/off) but it does the trick. The word Nitecore is barely visible on the diffuser.

This combo is so good that it knocked my trit'ed 2xAA Mule off the nightstand. Of course, who knows if it's got long term staying power but for the past few weeks it's still going strong. I'm sure I'll love the Mule for its Nichia 119 glow but not for now...

I do have other lights with flat diffusers a la Fenix line but none with locator beacon and being this compact yet great runtime. Feel free to challenge me on that so I can try something else :)

Go ask your favorite dealer how much they are, I have no idea :)

Same with the Olight T-series diffuser which fits a large selection of Non-Olight flashlights (21.0 - 23.0mm head bezels): the lens would keep falling out inward lol.
Glue wouldnt fix the diffuser lens on the diffuser frame, i've tried that already.

I'm going to try a dab of gorilla glue but I think because the housing is slightly flexible it may not work well...

Hahaha! Damn, I'm glad I only paid "I-can't-tell-you-but-peanuts" for this otherwise I'd be upset. My chapstick diffusers could use the company :)

I think your Nitecore diffuser is still more desirable in the way it controls the light better. You can see how the bottle cap refracts light everywhere, the light does spill into my eyes when I hold the torch in front of me while walking outside at night. It's almost like a lantern. I have to hold it low and at my side, so the light doesn't blind me.

More of a quickie beam pattern shot than beam shot. Guess which is which?
