Nitecore IFE2 question

I have 2 Nitecore IFE2 lights which I really like especially with the cooler LED tint but I notice a slight flicker on say 20 to 30 lumens that seems to look like the regulation adjusting...at max or close to about half output the regulation flicker disappears and it's the same on primary or RCR123's,does anybody else have this issue it's my first Nitecore so any info would be appreciated,thank you

My IFE2 has a similar condition. I returned my first IFE2 as it flickered badly at lower to below midpoint settings. My 2nd IFE2 also flickers but not as pronounced. It seems worse on RCR123s, and CR123s. On a 18650 (AW 2900), it's negligible but still occurs occasionally. With all battery types it never affects the lowest levels just those the range you mentioned (around 20-30 lumens). I've rationalized it as the "nature of the beast" and moved on.

Mine does not flicker at all on any level, it actually works great on very low levels.

Yeah thats what I thought too it's the design of the light or the driver regulation it does seem to be a well made light and your right time to just move on I have to say for the size it puts out some serious lumens..

Congrats on your luck! Actually the very low levels are perfect it's the 10-25% range that flickers. No biggie since I can adjust the ring a bit and it clears up. Probably the levels I would least likely use anyway.

BTW; if you swap out the tailcap cover for one of the generic GITD ones; the IFE2 will tailstand when On. At least mine does.

I just grabbed mine and checked it on every possible level, no flickering at all on 0% through 75%. Im not preaching the light or anything, I just think it is one of the nicest lights out there. I keep it next to me at night due to the low mode and the ability to go from very low to 200 lumens fast if needed.

Where do you get the GITD boot? Light Hound? Could you please post the link?
I always thought the boot should fit tighter on the tail switch, just like the JB Jet-III M

I won't post the link for policy reasons, but the 14mm GITD covers in the DIY section of the many websites mentioned on CPF will work. BTW; the tailswitch unscrews in a clockwise direction, no the standard way.
