No problem at all; took off the bezel, lens reflector and light engine fall right out. Undo two screws on LE which exposes emitter. Emitter slides around on its own thermal grease. Unsoldered it, cleaned up the goop, dropped XML star (12-14mm?) right in with Arctic Alumina, none of that greasy kid's stuff, LOL!

Soldered 'er back in, screwed the cover back on, cleaned all switching and turning contact areas, dropped LE/reflector in and we had ignition!

Very bright with the XML, about what you'd see from a P60 XML I'm happy with it...now with the big hotspot I can use it for a change instead of a distracting pinpoint! Good riddance tiny spots!😡

No focusing required at all-dead focused as soon as I put it back together.

Thanks neighbor, I think I will give it a try 🙂

I ordered some T6 5000K from cutter on 14mm boards.

I hope to enjoy the nice big hotspot soon! 😀

Richpalm, I had my SR3 in pieces the other day, and I was tossing up between Neutral XM-L, or a High CRI XP-G... It's good to know the swap is as easy as I thought it would be! It always gives confidence seeing other people successfully doing this stuff!

Cheers,
Alex
