Doh! With an SRT 7 in the car and the recent positive comments here, I find myself looking at one of these for EDC. Has anyone got the SRT 3 yet? Any strong preference? My wish-list continues to grow!!

I rotate the SRT3 as an EDC. The selector ring is the only saving grace.....I have no use for the red or blue LEDs. It is a tad larger than most single 123 lights but it's still pretty comfortable to EDC. All in all a good little light.

The SRT5 is a fairly compact 18650 light that fits in my pockets just fine. While I have no use for the blue LED, the red will come in handy. Which ZL did you go with?

I am still contemplating the SRT, despite my ZL. You can tell the the bug has bitten. Worse still, I am looking at EDC in general now, and have my eyes on an Enzo PK70 (UK legal) and a rugged pen...

The SC52, which is nice for an AA. Oddly enough, I picked up a cheapie Olight (AAA) at the same time and that finds its way into my pocket more often, along with the car keys! The SC52 seems to have found a home in my work case, clipped onto one of the organiser bits in the bag.

Hello! I'm trying to decide on the 3 or 5 right now... passive if you still have both, what are your opinion on an EDC? My reference is from an Fenix T1 that I've had for years that I dropped and lost it somewhere a few weeks ago. :(

My biggest question is the difference in output from 550 vs 750 lumens. It's one of those things where I can read all the reviews I want, but for practical purposes, what difference is there?

Unless you are comparing the two side by side, you will not notice the difference between 550 and 750 very much. Keep in mind however is that Nitecore's estimated 45min run time on 550 lumen is based on a step down after 3min. So if you only use a few min each time, you are really looking at 20-25min of run time at max. Also you will only get 550 lumen using either a 16340 or 14500 battery.

I would get the SRT5 if you need a longer run time using a 18650 battery or the bigger size does not matter to you.

The SRT3 have a screw on clip which I think is a lot better and it will also tail stand better. It also allows you the choice of multiple battery type using the extender.

Got the SRT3 and I'm really liking it. I think it's like buying two lights in one. First, there's the change in appearance and length when the extender tube is on. Second, I really love the flexibility of battery options. Third, the secondary blue/red led's are a great bonus. I use the red a lot when looking for change inside the car.

I carry it primarily in its RCR123 format. I don't mind topping it off every 3days . It's a really small light compared to my previous edc, a Klarus XT2C. Overall, this light really amazes me. Great output, great flexibility and great build quality. Can't ask for much more from an edc light.
