My daily commute is a walk across a desolate and unlit heath. I really could do with something like this light to make my daily night time stumble more of a pleasure. Before I pull the trigger are there any other similar lights to concider oris this in a league of its own?

Perhaps a custom light? Thanks.

It's in a league of its own. I got it for well under $250 on ebay, which is a hell of a deal for that light.

Thanks. I have been out of the flashlight arena for a while now and have read good things about the Nightcore. I remember some of the modified Maglites were good but I have not kept up with current mods.

Have a look at the 2 new EagleTacs.
The MX25L3C with 6 XP-G2's or the MX25L3 with a MT-G2.
I do have the NiteCore TM26 BTW.

Thanks - they look nice lights.

May I ask the difference between them? The website was not very clear on this aspect. Thank you.

The tm 26 is a great light. I love mine and dfinitely recommend it. it has well spaced modes and features! I also agree with previous poster to look into eagletac. They have some great lights.

Thanks. I get the feeling that none of these are bad lights, just offering different features for different types of user.

The MX25L3C has a choice between 6 XP-G2 S2 cool white 6500k or 6 Nichia 219 warmer white 4500k
If you want higher lumens and throw, go with the XP-G2's. If you want better color rendering (higher CRI) go with the Nichia's.

The MX25L3 comes with either a single cool white XM-L2 or a single neutral white MT-G2 LED.
If you want more throw, go with the XM-L2. If you want more lumens, go with the MT-G2

The higher output specs between the 2 lights are really close.
MX25L3C with 6 XP-G2 is 2450 ANSI FL-1 lumens
MX25L3 with MT-G2 is 2375 ANSI FL-1 lumens

If size is a factor to you, the MX25L3C is about a inch shorter than the MX25L3.
Both lights offer kit options which consists of a SS bezel, color filters, a holster, and a extra tailcap clicky.

I plan to get the MX25L3 with the MT-G2.
