no NiMH rechargeables in MAG AA LED light?

Back in October before the madness started,when I was younger, naive and extremely uneFLASHducated, while looking for a new bike light, I purchased (2) AA MAG LED's. Wow did I think they were cool (for about 3 days).The girl at WALMART said, !!!$25 for a flashlight!!!??? (Little did she know).:devil: Long story short, manufacturer instructions say NO RECHARGEABLES / ONLY ALKIES:shakehead.............................WHY?
Are Eneloops going to start a FUSION REACTION?
Is there some mod to make REAL LIGHTS out of these?
