Was wondering if there are any CPF members out there who own Nokia mobiles with built-in flashlights?

They've had a couple of models in the past with flashlights in them though I have no idea if these were LEDs or if they were any good. I was kinda considering the Nokia 1650 primarily because it had a flashlight he he. :naughty: Sounds silly I know but I think it would make a great last-ditch EDC light.

Only an old Nokia 5100 (GSM) that I don't use anymore. When I bought it new it was kinda cool have. It has 2 SMD sized LEDs of unknown make covered by a couple of plastic domes/lenses that help focus it. The beam was of the "angry blue" tint of white. Okay as a backup light if the phone had more power than my EDC light.

My Casio G'zOne uses it's "flash" (a fairly bright LED, even by today's standards) as a flashlight...works pretty well

Didn't know about that though, until I bought it, I swear! I bought it because I tend to be pretty rough on my cellphones...

*edit* As an actual camera flash, it comes up short by a wide margin...

My good old trusty Sanyo 8300 ,has a "flash" for the camera that actually stays on when using the video-camera..got me out of a few mishaps at the movies before I became the flashlight maniac I am today :D

got a nokia 1100, got a lovely warm tint but too low pwm.. Its really great to use and handy.. not to mention durable too.. ! :D

This thread made me think about my old Sony K750i. It had 1-2 bright leds that you could use as a torch and found I it very handy numerous times.

Now I have the K800i. Anyone with the K800i check out the "Torch Download", it controls the red/orange focus light apparently!:

Thanks for the great link hawknight! Downloaded the "Light Download", a simple java based app that works on just about any java mobile. Worked on my wife's Sony Ericsson K510i. I'll try it on my Nokia 3110c.

Speaking of Sony Ericsson, I wish they'd revive their torch add-on for mobiles. I got their IBT-20 Blue Torch add-on many moons ago. Not much of a flashlight but it is quite fun to use.

Let me start by saying Nokia is my favorite cell phone brand. They usually have less bells and whistles than the other brands, focusing on robustness and RF (signal strength).
My cell is my only phone, and I NEED to have good call quality. It seems ridiculous to me that we have phones that play mp3s, show pictures, have games, etc. But the call quality still sucks! When I want a light I have several to choose from : )

Now you just fire up your HID in the theater to find your way to the bathroom or concession stand?

My Blackberry Pearl has a fairly decent video camera light. You can also download apps that turn the screen into a flashlight of sorts.
