Not your everyday beam modifier....

Hi everyone,
So i was out last night taking some long exposure photos and using my Sunwayman D40A for light painting. I made some coloured gels to go over the lens of the torch using some cut up loo roll and some quality street rappers when i stumbled across the fact that if i didnt put the tube all the way on it removed some of the immediate spill.

That got me thinking.... Has anyone made an add on accessory that will remove spill, soften the hot spot or even give more spill?

OK, so i have a few ideas i'll be making over the next week or so. I'm wondering if there is somewhere on the forum i can post my project makey doos

I have been considering it for a stage effect with fog. By "killing the spill" the effect on stage should be better.
