I know that I will get flamed but a while back I acquired a NovaTac SpecOps for a good price. I was pleasantly surprised and really liked these features:
1. size
2. dual 123a battery
3. low power setting-works great at night, doesn't blind you and saves on the battery
4. strobe- worked great to ward/blind off an aggressive owl a while back
5. flush on/off switch with momentary and click

Anyway, I know that a lot of people don't like them, but I have had good luck. What is comparable that doesn't cost a fortune?

thanks!

ETA: just reading some of the other recommendations and looks like the Fenix E35 might be a good alternative in the $40 range. Any others?

Excuse my talking to myself, but for those who might be interested in something similar the Fenix PD32 looks nice too, although it is $60.
