Well I recently sold my JetBeam TC-R2 and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a replacement light. I really liked the brightness of this light as well as the variable settings! This was only my second, what I call, quality light. The first one being a NiteCore SR3. If the SR3 would what had the brightness of the JetBeam I'd have actually never sold it. I'm looking at a 2 CR123 or 1 18650 replacement light. I want the same level (at least) of lumens as I received from my TC-R2 but want the overall toughness, cigar ring (if possible), and strike bezel of the NiteCore. I have a Elektro Lumen's EDC XM-L coming my way second hand but I'll be looking very soon I'm sure for something will multiple settings!! Suggestions and thoughts are more than welcome!!!

The Eagletac T20C2Mk2 would fit your bill. Cigar ring, strike bezel, very tough, and A LOT brighter (particularly with the XM-L module) than the TC-R2. Its a great, great light.

+1 on the Eagletac T20C2 MkII. I have all of the modules. The new XM-L T6 module is extremely bright with a nice balance of flood and throw. However, If I want want more throw, I simply swap out the XM-L module for the XP-E R2 module and I've got a great thrower!

Lighteous may have suggested the Eagletac simply because you can swap out the modules which you cannot do (I believe) with the Lumintop. The XML is larger in diameter and therefore requires a larger rerflector to catch and throw the beam. The XPE LED is smaller in diameter and therefore in the Eagletac head will allow a better throw. Also I think that Eagletac probably had a bigger clientelle than Lumintop from what I have seen here on CPF. Lumintop does not come up that often.
Just curious... why the Eagletac T20C2 instead of the Lumintop TD15x?

Both are awesome lights no doubt, however I suggested the Predator simply because the OP stated he wanted multiple settings. The Armytek has a ton of them... And by the way, Lumintop is a very popular light, Lightman2...

Well I stand corrected Jack however I have not seen a lot of recent chat on Lumintop versus the others and that is why I made the statement I did.

My suggestion for the Eagletac is based solely on my satisfied experience with the T20C2 MKII. I have no experience with the Lumintop TD15x. My suggestion for the Eagletac isn't meant as a knock on the Lumintop or any other light. You've piqued my interest in the Lumintop, though, and I'm going to have to check it out. If I'm lucky I won't have to buy it too!

Thanks to everyone that has posted with suggestions. I'll be taking a lookat them all very soon. I've been looking at so many lights I was starting toget to the point of confusion. That's when I came up with the idea to posthere. I knew I'd find a lot more educated feedback than to try to find one onmy own. I just recently got into carrying a light as part of my EDC (around ayear ago). My buddy has tried to educate me and I'm trying to soak in all theinformation but at times it's overwhelming, lol!

I watched a video review of the Eagletac and came up with aquestion. It seemed to me that the light always comes on in the high mode. Is this correct, is there no memory for last setting used? Thanks again!

I am not sure on the T20C2 but on the P20A2 if the head is tight the light comes on on high all the time but if the head is lossened a little it will always come on in mid mode and there is no last setting memory. Maybe someone here has a P20C2 and can tell you. If the video was a goinggear then what you saw is correct.

The T20C2 operates the same way you described for the P20A2.

I just wanted to come back and say "I found it". After doing a little trading I ended up with a 6P host with 19A extension. With a little help I lego'd my perfect light! It has a TorchLabs Triple/P60 3 mode drop in, Torchlabs Triad tail cap, Solarforce lanyard ring, and I bored the body and extension to take 18mm cells. Thank all for the advice in this thread.
