Ok, here we go! Is the Ultrafire charger still the best for AW 17670s?

Getting ready to go to a 2x17670 setup for an M3/M4 hybrid LED setup (see the modified light forum). I've been out of the rechargeable battery scene for a while. (Would still like to find a 3.0V rcr setup for my E1B). I would appreciate any help and suggestions you can spare!

The Ultrafire has never been the best charger for AW 17670s. As far as "best" is concerned, the best charger for these cells is a complicated hobby charger with adjustable current so you can fine tune charging rate to the cell size.

But that's probably not what you meant, the Pila IBC is considered to be the "best" consumer style simple cradle charger for 3.7V cells from ~17500-18650 sizes, it will also charge 3.7V RCR123s with the appropriate spacers, but the charging rate is a little on the high side for em.

Hello KDOG3,

In spite of what Eric says, some of us feel that using a hobby charger is less complicated than driving a stick shift... :nana:

With that said, the Pila IBC charger is a good charger and is easier to use.

Hi Tom,

I actually like the manual transmission concept brought into the comparison there...

Learning to use a good hobby charger, just like learning to drive a standard, is a rewarding experience that pays off in the long run...
