Older 2C silver mag question

I remember reading a post on here where someone had referred to an item as being as "hard to find as an old silver 2C mag". Didn't think much about that post until I found this long forgotten mag in a drawer recently. I'm not sure when I got it but maybe 80's or early 90's? The serial has no "C" in it- just a string of eight numbers.

I'm currently thinking of possible uses for it, but wanted to know if there are any special characteristics that I'm not aware of (interior dimensions, switch resistance, no longer in production)? It is the only C mag that I have, and as such, I can't compare it to another.

I don't think silver 2C mags are very uncommon. As far as mods go, there are many. The simpliest mod would be to make yourself a 3 CR123 battery tube of out really anything handy, plastic tubing, rubber hose, whatever, and install a maglite 6D cell xenon lamp, or if you want to go the LED route get a drop in that can handle 9V's.

Internal diameter is supposed to be slightly bigger than new Mags ... apparently 26xxx size cells will fit
26xxx cells did not fit my purple Mag 2C :thumbsdow

Thanks for the feedback ebow86 and tx101. I already have ideas what I want to do with the light. My primary concern was that I didn't want to modify the mag if it had been rare. Instead, I would rather it go to a collector and I purchase a new 2C for my purposes.

Malkoff drop-ins require C Mags with the prefix C in the serial number.

Britelumens sells a copper sleeve that will allow dropins and heatsinks for newer Mag
Cs to fit these older ones.

I have a black 2C that appears to be of the same vintage as the OP's. I turned it into a Li-ion ROP pretty easily.
