Olight M30 vs DBS V3 Help me decide.

I have the DBS V3 3SM MC-E with 2x18650 extension and this light is an incredible blend of flood and throw. It is the best combination of the two that I have ever used.

Both of my Deerelights have the extension tube and the MC-E is VERY useful. Nice wide flood but can pump enough lumens out to throw by sheer force instead of precise focus.

I'm still not quite certain of the sizes of these lights, but I think I'll go with the Olight. It has a smaller head than the Dereelight and is more likely to work as an EDC. I can always sell it if the PWM is an issue for me. I don't really like the UI of either of these lights, but I think the Olight is the lesser of 2 evils. Now I need to figure out which holster to order and what batteries/charger to get. Thanks for all your input and advice. I will probably also get a DBS when they come out with an XP-G pill if it seems like a large enough improvement in LEDs.

If you plan to get a DBS when an XP-G pill is available, I'd say go ahead and get the DBS now. Then you'll only have to buy the pill instead of a whole new flashlight. . . . . With the extra $$$ from not buying two lights, you can stock up on 18650 batteries, a charger, and other Deerelight accessories such as the extension tube or another reflector or pill. . . .

I had thought about doing it now and buying the MC-E version, but when I started adding up the costs of buying an additional smooth and OP reflector plus the R2 pill it ended up almost costing as much as buying a separate DBS R2 light. I'm not sure there is much savings in the upgradeability. For a little more, I could have 2 separate lights and not have to change pills and reflectors back and forth.

Never mind, I went ahead and got the DBS MC-E and a CL1H as well with Q4 5B tint and the aspheric lens to play with. When I measured out the head diameter of the Olight and DBS and drew it out on paper, both of these lights are smaller than I was thinking and there is very little difference in head diameter. bringing up an old thread but i cant decide between the 2 either, the output looked slightly higher for the m30, but it looks like its only due to more flood on the ceiling bounce test compared to the dbs-mce which looks similar brightness in the outdoor shots ( http://www.lygte-info.dk/review/12 beamshoots UK.html )

the dbs looks like it has a wider hotspot but not so much spill if that makes sense.

have things changed with the new SST-50 pill for the dbs?
im guessing its a bit brighter and throws further, which may be better for me as im looking to get a compact light to use on a road bike. the upgradeability of the dbs is also a good option which the m30 doesnt have.
