Got my new Olight T15
Fenix who?

Came in a normal type box.

First look it seemed to be a typical modern asian small light.

After inspecting the outside..that all changed.
X-tra O rings
Lanyard
Fit and finish are fantastic.
HAIII
Tough A/R glass
Nice O rings
Reverse clickey AND twisty switch at the same time..YES both.
By eye 4 inch long, decent heft and thin like 17670 size.
WILL tail stand
May roll on a table
Not alot of texture...yet I cant see dropping it.
DEEP reflector area...hybrid LOP/smooth
5 Brightness levels+2 SOS and 2 strobes
Memory for last level used
uses 1AA battery
fully regulated
Claimed run times are:
90L 50 mins
70L 120 mins
40L 5 hours
20L 12 hours
8 L 25+ hours

Beam shape is a bit more throw then a Wolf Eyes beam.Nice usable spill.PLEASE dont ask about white walls...I just dont care.Outside this is a great great light.Common 1AA battery. Great for an EDC.
This baby costs less then $50..FENIX who?
SOS I could care less about..it works fine
Strobe is annoying as it should be.

Threads are semi fine. They did come greasy and smooth.

Fantastic 1AA light. Better then all others I have seen or tested.
Everything about this light is quality.
I will keep this light.

IMO Fenix needs to cut costs by 25% or make better lights.

Bang-for-the-buck-o-meter 9/10

Keeper for sure.

My 2 cents

**forgot about the clickey AND the twisty...well :
You turn light on and swap modes with rear click. When in a mode you use twist to select brightness.
Was odd for 15 seconds..after that it is great and works fine.

Again
Fenix who?

As usual , got this from Mike ( PTS)..great price..no hassles..super fast shipping.
I respect the hell out of PTS MIke. He does us ( cpf) right over and over.
His momma raised him right !

**EDIT: Im 99% sure this is NOT the Q5..I think it is a Q2. The T20 IS a Q5 for sure though.

Have you tried with 14500?
It's bigger than the fenix, still pocketable?

Heh some one finally saw it.
Its a pre warning that the SH*T is about to hit the fan.Get ready for ruthless gritty chaos.

I actually stole it from a fellow CPF guy I like alot.( name not typed)
I dont want people to lump him in with me as im usually public enemy #1 on cpf.

BTW yours is funny !

Fastcar do you have a Jetbeam I just got the CL-E 2.0 and was looking for a comparison. I was looking at the Olights but went with the Jetbeam. I might have to check out Olight again.

FASTCAR, I am really interested in the results of your walk with this light. I am interested in a practical light for walking and trails at night. This light seems perfect. How is the tint and outside color rendition? Is there a good spill and is the spill bright enough to be useful for walking? I would be interested in the actual lumens if you get around to testing it and also, like fasuto, I am interested in how it performs with 14500's (is it regulated, brighter ?)
Great Review, I have been really looking hard at this light, but it is hard to find any real info about it. (Very close to pulling the trigger on buying it. In reality probably past the point of no return)

Thanks in advance,
Reverend Mark

I dont bother to review any light ( type) that I dont like.
This is plenty bright, and has plenty spill.

Keep in mind though it is a P4 and 1AA battery.The Q5 T20 is brighter..but uses 123a.

In real world use for walks and general flashlight use this light is fantastic.
You can still light stuff up 200-300' NP at all.

This is what you seem to be looking for REV.If you dont already have a CPF discount at PTS..set one up.Mike is a great guy and easy to talk to.

Any questions Feel free to Email me or call

You turn light on and swap modes with rear click. When in a mode you use twist to select brightness.

I'm not sure I understand, so you swap 'modes' with the clicky? Meaning what? You switch between strobe, sos and constant on with the clicky, and choose a brightness level (one of 5) within that 'mode' using the twisty?

I'm confused because it's said to have 'illumination level memory', but if you are twisting into a brightness level that's no really memory but more a physical setting.

Does the head become more loose or tighter as you are twisting into different levels (depending on direction)?

YES this is correct.

If Im using ..umm lets say : Constant on..lowest setting..then turn it off ( clickey) for a whole day.Next time I turn it on it will constant on low mode where I left it.

Not sure if that helps you

Thanks... Soo.... that means that the brightness level depends on how tightly screwed on the head is? Does it seem loose at its highest (or lowest) level?

Never mind the above. I your description from the T20 and I get it.

Theres some magic going on where you give it a slight loosening turn, it changes modes, and you can tighten it back up while retaining your mode. Very cool, I was worried the head might be ready to fall off if you are on very low.

I might have to scower the forums until I here news of the Q5 edition.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I see what ya thought.
No, the head is never about to fall off.Its like 1/8 of a turn and back again on the head to change modes.( brightness)

Fastcar,

Thanks for the info, I setup an account with Mike at PTS, thanks for the recommendation. Great price, fast response, I am looking forward to doing business with him!

Also take a look at the olight dealers thread. It sounds like they are listening and will produce a Q5 version of the t-15 (we need to keep the pressure applied, everyone should +1 on the following thread if they want a great Q5 1AA light), Great news, but I am itching to buy one today!
