Hi,

I recently purchased an Olight X6 and noticed that on max power there is an an annoying induction whine coming from the light. I’ve been looking through the CPF forums trying to find members that may own these lights and sent out a few PM's. Thanks to those that have already replied.

I thought I’d create a quick poll to see how many other X6 owners are getting an annoying whine from the light on max power. I know this light a fairly expensive so I’m not expecting many replies but it would be good to get the views of those that own one.

If the general consensus is that the light should be quiet then ill contact the seller and ask for a replacement item. If not then ill just learn to live with it.

Thanks for your time.

Regards
Karl.

I've gone back to check mine, and it does make an audible whine on the highest mode.

Typically, if I experience significant whine, I comment on it in the review (which I didn't in this case). I would describe the hum as noticeable, but not particularly distracting on my sample (i.e., I'm conscious of it when I first switch into Turbo, but then immediately stop noticing it).

I too would be interested to hear other members' experiences.

Because none of my other lights have any issues I expected this one to be no different. Ive never experienced "induction whine" before so maybe i'm being over senstive about it ??
Was thinking about sending it back but what if the next one is even worse - arrgghh !!. Its noisey but not really noticable when outside. Just annoying that you spend all this money and these units fly past quality control with "no issues"

Oh well - rant over :scowl:

Selfbuilt,

Ive been having a conversation with an Olight engineer for the last few days. He has confirmed that the unit I have is indeed defective. His test was "When the light is on and placed on a table you should not hear it" ! Not very scientific but that will do for me :)

Regards
Karl.
