Im a newbie here, but I have been carrying an Olight t20 for over a year as my personal defense flashlight. I dont go out without it in a holster. I've dropped it, abused it, etc and never had a problem i could not fix by wiping the threads with alchohol.

They came out with a new model the M20 warrior Premium so I gave it a try and I was struck at how much brighter it is than any of my other flashlights.

For comparison I paid $46 for the T20 with about 160 lumens, strobe, sos, and all that.....

About $99 bux for the M20 at 250 lumens with strobe and lock out etc....came with all sorts of stuff in the box, like a screw on strike bezel, grip ring, holster, battery magazine, lanyard, etc and had a 19 dollar momentary on tailcap option with corded button for weapon light applications.

Both are much brighter than my Surefire G2L or L1 digital Lumamax.

Im sure teh Surefire lights are much higher quality somehow, but I dont see the OLIGHTs mentioned much on flashlight forums or firearms forums.....

Edit: I see now that it gets mentioned, just not in the subject headers. and man this is a busy board, usually if i scan back three or four pages on a forum I can tell what the forum likes to talk about, but here that only covers 24 hours or so...... lol.

Anyway, tell me if I bought a good lite or not and dont be afriad to flame the noob.

Very happy with my M20, bought one for a friend who is over the moon.

I don't have the M20 but I very recently bought the T-25 (tactical edition). I'm in the UK, but it worked out at about $60 US. I'm really pleased with it in every way, and though it might sound trivial, the clicky switch is one of the things that impressed me. It's much nicer than any other I've used. I find the UI quite nice too.

I've also noticed Olights don't seem to get discussed as much as other brands, but IMO the quality is every bit as good as Fenix and Nitecore. Glad you like your Olight.

It seems there is a different brand favorite every week. I have an Olight T-10 with a spare T-15 battery tube. I love the light and the versatility of this combination.

You did good with the M20.
Love mine,my best thrower.Lasts forever on a 18650 cell (not regulated) or if you don't care too much about runtimes use 2 RCR123's and get regulated brightness for about an hour which is still very decent.

From what I hear the M20 should be a great light.

Olights aren't mentioned as much is because Surefire has been around for a lot longer and have a reputation. Also that length of time also lets their product get out more.

:welcome:

I like mine - chase off a mountain lion with it Noveber 7th 11:00pm Blue ridge mountains.

That would be chased.. can't seem to back space.

Feed mine AW protected 18650's, on a Pila IBC charger.

Most of the time, i just use it on Medium, and it's Plenty !

Plus, i really appreciate its Low mode, which is very low.

I have the same set-up, except I had the T-15 tube bored to fit 17500s.

Mine is the 2008 model, which fully supports 3.7V LiIons, unlike Fenix's single cell models (even the new ones :thumbsdow). I also like the UI; with the front end well lubed, I can change brightness with one hand.

And I don't have to pass by strobe to do so, but if I need it, it's only a half-press away from my chosen level, which is remembered; again, unlike Fenix. *I'm not knocking Fenix, as a matter of fact, my first good LED EDC was a Fenix P2D CE, but they still really haven't improved on it. For example, they still didn't upgrade the PD20's circuitry to accept LiIons:thinking:, whereas Olight for went from T-xx Q5 to T-xx Q5 '08 and included this important upgrade; Bravo Olight! :twothumbs

With the T-10 body I say "I love my Olight".
With the T-15/17500 I say "Love you long-time"! :whistle:LOL
