Does the downboy have open load protection? IIRC the madmax lite/plus do but the badboy and NG badboy don't.

Thanks Wayne. One last question - when it output is disconnected, does the output voltage of the Downboy increase in an attempt to maintain the current or does it simply shutdown?

The Downboy is open circuit protected.

The LED is wired in series with the internal power switch. No LED, no current. The Downboy is a special case for converters. It's not a classic boost or buck circuit.

The IC internal logic get power from a different path.

Thanks again Wayne. Sorry for the numerous questions, I'm trying to figure out how I fried my FluPIG. Time for more testing I guess.
