I'm looking at the above torch. Saw the youtube video, love the throw but is it worth it as anything within 50 metres is like a laser beam! How good is the throw compared to reflector light? Can it be compared to an olight sr51 or m3x or is it more like the fenix tk70 or olight sr90... ?

The stock nightmaster is around 95K lux at 1m, with an EZ1000 die it's less than that. For comparison, a SR51 is 50+ K lux and both SR90 and TK70 are around 100K. So yes, it would have similar throw to the SR90/TK70, with regards to the small hotspot, it's just a result of the aspheric design but i actually find it highly useful, even in EDC carry. You might want to have a look at the onestopthrow modified version of the nightmaster, it does in at 200K lux, double the throw stock.

Just get it, no its not a reflector-ed light but if you have never owned an aspheric you should.
It will out throw all those light's how ever it is only arouns 200 lumens compared to the TK70's 2200, the TK70 will light up a much larger area, the nightmaster is more like an SR90/M3X beam minus the spill.
