This durable, water-resistant, tactical light features a 1-watt Luxeon bulb that outputs 30 lumens of power — 10x brighter than standard LEDs — and never needs replacing! Collimator technology provides a focused, more penetrating beam of light, with an effective range of 150 feet.

Lightweight, all-metal aluminum housing and soft-touch rubber on/off button. Comes with a wrist strap and nylon pouch. Measures 3 3/4" long x 1" diameter. Weighs approximately 2 oz. Runs on one 3V lithium battery (included). 90-day warranty.

Anyone have any experience with or comments about it?
Sharper Image doesn't lay on the hype nearly as thick as some companies do - is the beam white? Does the switch work? Is the holster worth anything? Is it waterproof?

Re: Any comments about this 1W Nuawi?

Looks exactly like my AL-053 5 Watt's little brother.

The flashlight has a really solid feel to it. The neck switch is very positive, and evidentally the 1 Watt model just uses the NX-xx colimator instead of the a deep replector that the 5 Watt uses.

Seems like a solid light for the price-if you don't lose the luxeon lottery, that is. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Re: Any comments about this 1W Nuawi?

alright $20 difference but 3x the flashlight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif in that sense it should cost $90 right? That means it's a STEAL at $50! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That $50. light sounds like a pretty good deal alright, but even in lights in this price range do not follow exact proportionate cost/benefit rules. Before I would buy EITHER of those lights, I'd like a lot more information re: type crystal, optics, switch type, reputation etc.
-even for just 50 bucks...

I found that out during my past acquisition of 150 flashlights -since joining this forum 4 years ago. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

One last thought...$20.00 is still $20.00 -and that amount can be put to a very worthwile use..like buying another flashlight! -like a UKE-Luxeon 4-AA from Brightguy, for instance.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Frankly, my new standard for cost/benefit ratio of flashlight stuff is the new Surefire KL1 head. That's one H of a great product for $56 (got mine at Tadgear).

There are at least 2, maybe 3 reviews of the Q-III out there, and there's been a LOT of message traffic about them on these forums. No mysteries, very well known light, both it's strengths and shortcomings.

I agree with almost everybody else that's posted about them- it's not perfect, but it is an excellent value. It instantly became one of my 2 favorites. Oh, and they can be had for 2/$80 shipped. 'Tis the season.

Exactly where was the Sharper Image light (1st post) in this thread reviewed?

I think I'll stick with the KL1 also.
No Luxeon lottery to worry about. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Any comments about this 1W Nuawi?

As I know, the neck switch can modify to 2 stage of light level. Try to open and check inside, it like Nuwai Luxeon. I have ever modify it's switch.

I HAVE a Q3 - like it a lot, EXCEPT that in normal holster carry, it sometimes activates accidentially
(during the day) and by night time, no photon joy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I also recently drained a Photon 3 that was on a neck lanyard inside my T-shirt. It was pretty scary: two light on my person, and I almost had to go into my breifcase for a backup unit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Re: Any comments about this 1W Nuwai?

I have this light but it's marketed thru the Police brand which i believe is a Taiwanese brand.Besides, i got this light from Taiwan.
