P60 into M6, With some modification?

I have an older Pelican M6 incandecent that I would like to upgrade to an Led. But every where I look they talk about "new" and "old" model M6's. And "Some modification required". Can anyone tell me for certain that a P60 will fit into my light, and what "some" modification might entail? Many thanks.

You'll end up with very little thermal contact unless you wrap it in copper or aluminum foil. You might have issues with the drop-in being too short if you use one on the shorter side of things.
