Hello. I have done a few mods with p7 in mags. I have one that it soft dome is starting to go hazy. Any idea what this is from? Can it be replaced?it is affecting the light output. Has anyone had this problem before? They are on regulators and addiquate heat sinks.

Try very gently wiping the dome with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Use the lightest pressure possible to prevent damage to the soft dome.

Thanks for the info. I have tried that and itt didn't work. It looks to be all the way through the dome.

If it's all the way through the dome the only advice I can really give is to replace the LED. The dome is silicone that has been moulded in place over the die and the bond wires. If you're careful you can completely remove the dome, but expect total output to decrease. Attempts to replace the dome on any LED have almost never gone well (I can only think of one individual who's managed to do it).

Thanks. Anyone know the cheapest place to buy new ones? Is anyone doing a group buy or do people not use these as much anymore?

Curious to know how it was damaged. Did you happen to use a cyanoacrylate near the LED?

The P7 does not get much use anymore with the new XM-L from Cree. You should upgrade.

Can I use this with the same heatsink as the p7 mag insert? What's the cost? I saw the XMLAWT on deals xtreme for $8. Are these any good? They say they are brighter than the p7.

No. I used thermal glue to mount it. It was a 2 part mix. But I used that in all of my p7's. Only one fogged.
