Today I received two Peaks:
Kilimanjaro 1LED HP
Pacific with additional 1AA and 2AAA bodies.

At first the Pacific didn't function.
Then it functioned properly for a short while (wow, nice output:sold:) but afterwards it dimmed (fresh batteries and I tried several).
It went out. Went back on but very dim, and out again.
I cleaned the threads and stuff like that, but it didn't help.

What could this be?

Kind regards and thanks for your insight,
Joris

PS: I will have to send it back to the dealer in Germany, I fear??
btw: the Kilimanjaro works adorably.:sold:

I suggest you check the spring-loaded battery contact at the bottom of the battery tube. I have found that it can cause intermittent contact in some cases. You can pull on the "plunger" and the spring will pop out along with the contact. I cleaned all of the black grease out of it, and I am using "White Lightning" wax-based bicycle chain lube instead. I also use this lube on the threads.

This has improved the electrical connection on all 5 of my Peak lights. It also works much better on Peak's momentary pushbuttons, which you can use in place of the keychain attachment.

Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that.

Peak has excellent customer support, but in your location it may be more difficult. I suppose it depends upon your local dealer.

I have heard Peak recommend cleaning the ends of the batteries, and they have started selling a contact cleaner pen on their website. I suspect you could do the same thing with an alcohol wipe.
